Leading price comparison website MoneySuperMarket have just released details that show the most burgled areas of the UK.
Dagenham (post code RM8) has come out on top of the list with 55 out every 1000 home insurance quotes in this area declaring that they had been victims and made a claim in the past two years.
The figures released show unsurprisingly that living in busy areas makes you more susceptible to robbery, mainly due to the increased number of people making it easier for burglars to blend into the crowd. Whereas in more remote and rural locations you are more likely to spot someone acting suspiciously.
So which other areas were on the list?
Here are the top 10 most burgled areas as reported by MoneySuperMarket:
- RM8 – Dagenham (Greater London)
- IG2 - Gants Hil (Greater London)
- M21 - Chorlton-cum-Hardy (Manchester)
- DN2 – Intake (South Yorkshire)
- E18 - Woodford and South Woodford (London)
- RM11 – Hornchurch (Greater London)
- TW11 – Teddington (Greater London)
- BD2 - Eccleshill, Five Lane Ends (West Yorkshire)
- EN4 - Hadley Wood (Greater London)
- IG3 - Seven Kings (Greater London)
