What are the Benefits of Keyless Digital Door Locks?

With recent advancements in technology the security of your domestic or commercial property can be significantly simplified without compromising the safety of the items and individuals inside.

So what exactly are the benefits of keyless digital door locks? The security specialists at LockShop Direct will explain.

No more lost keys

Whether you opt for, biometric security, an electronic system or even a smart lock, you’ll be doing away with the risks connected with keys.

Not are keys easy to lose or misplace - something that may compromise the security of your property should they fall into the wrong hands - but they can also bend or break easily.

One of the most frustrating situations is where a key breaks inside a lock, preventing you and all others from gaining access while you arrange for a locksmith to attend and solve the problem.

With a digital keyless door lock, you’ll usually only require a code. With some, multiple codes can be programmed for individuals with varying levels of access authority. Just remember to ensure that no codes are written down and left visible to unauthorised individuals.

If you opt for a biometric lock, on the other hand, all you will need is your fingerprint. The system is programmed to recognise certain features of each authorised individual’s print, meaning it cannot be tricked.

A streamlined system

If multiple individuals are using the same access point day in and day out, a keyless digital door lock will significantly speed up the process. If a code, key card, fingerprint or smart device is used, queuing will be reduced and everything will run smoothly.

Smart locks are especially useful here, as many can be operated using a smartphone. With a device that can access the internet, contact others, perform multiple functions via an array of applications and open your door, life becomes extraordinarily uncomplicated!

Remote access

Some digital smart locks are accessible via a key card or fob, but others can be operated from your phone, as mentioned above.

They can even be accessed remotely, so you can command your door to open for a guest while you’re not there, or send an individual their own personalised PIN.

What’s more, many are equipped with cameras, so you can see who’s at the door wherever you are.

Easy to change

Key locks can be complicated, destructive and expensive to upgrade or change. However, most of the time, a digital model only needs to be reprogrammed in order for your home or office to return to the highest possible level of security.

If you do need to change the whole lock, keyless alternatives are extremely straightforward to remove and replace, so it can be done in no time.
