Mortice locks are embedded into the door itself and require a pocket (the mortice) to be cut into. They can only be opened using a mortice key. But rest assured, if you need a replacement key for your property, you’ve come to the right place.
Here at LockShop Direct, we specialise in mortice key cutting and can provide you with a duplicate copy of your key within minutes.
Mortice key cutting
Mortice keys are larger keys that take longer to cut. It usually takes up to 5 minutes to duplicate a mortice key as they are cut using a different machine. We make sure that a duplicate copy meets high-quality standards and fits inside your mortice lock perfectly.
Our team has the expertise to cut mortice keys quickly and safely in 3 simple steps.
Here’s how it works:
- Take some detailed photos of your key (usually a side view and front view). Send these to us at email@example.com and we will take a look at your key and identify which pricing band it belongs to (Band A, Band B or Band C). We then contact you to inform you which one you need.
Please note: we don’t process orders with the incorrect band, however, a delivery charge may still be incurred.
- Select the band from the list below and continue to the checkout process.
- After completing your order, we will send a confirmation email - including your order number (starting with ‘Web’) and you will need to send this and your key to us at:
LSD Key Cutting Department
173 West Road
Newcastle Upon Tyne
Here at LockShop, we post our mortice keys via recorded delivery, allowing you to receive your products sooner. For extra piece of mind, we advise you have keys delivered to a different address, i.e. friends, family or workplace, preventing the risk of burglary.
