The FERCO Tripact Lever Operated Latch & Deadbolt 20mm Faceplate - 2 Small Hook is available with a 40mm or 50mm backset, 70mm centres, 215mm case height, 58mm or 68mm case width, 7mm single spindle and a latch & deadbolt centre case. Often fitted to timber doors, Tripact locks use shallow flip hooks designed to minimise the amount of door preparation required during installation. Earlier versions of the Tripact lock were latch only, with a deadbolt later added to improve the overall level of security. The original locks featured a 20mm faceplate with a T-shaped rail running behind it and were only available with a 40mm backset. Later versions incorporate a deadbolt and use a slightly narrower faceplate. The hook positions remain compatible, although a new deadbolt keep will be required when replacing some of the earliest versions. IdentificationThis unit features two distinctive small flip hooks, also known as parrot nose hooks. It is unusual for locks to feature 70mm centres and a 7mm spindle, making this combination a useful way to identify the unit. GearboxThe latch & deadbolt gearbox has a 7mm single spindle, a case height of 215mm and a case width of either 58mm or 68mm, depending on the backset. Additional Locking PointsIn addition to the locking points within the gearbox, the full length strip features 2 hook locking points. FaceplateThe unit has a 20mm wide faceplate, making it suitable for composite and timber applications, with an overall length of 2150mm. Locking Point DistancesLocking Point Distance A = 876mmLocking Point Distance B = 897mmCroppableThis full length unit is croppable, allowing the strip height to be reduced to suit the door it is being installed into. HandingThe latch can be reversed by pushing in the latch hold cam located on the side of the lockcase, removing the latch, reversing it and returning it to the case. A click should be heard as the latch engages correctly. Sprung/UnsprungThe gearbox is sprung and incorporates an internal spring mechanism to assist with lever return, removing the need for sprung handles or a separate spring cassette. OperationLocking Method - A. Lift the lever to engage the locking mechanisms, then turn the cylinder one full turn to lock. To unlock, turn the key one full turn and push down on the lever.
