The Fireco Dorgard SmartSound is a wireless fire door hold open device supplied with a standard flat floorplate, designed to safely retain fire doors in the open position during normal use. This helps improve access and ventilation throughout a building while ensuring the door can be released to close when the fire alarm sounds. The flat floorplate provides a suitable contact surface for the retaining plunger and is designed to provide a neat installation without a raised bump stop. Dorgard SmartSound incorporates advanced noise filtering technology which continuously listens for the building’s fire alarm while helping to ignore common background sounds such as vacuum cleaners and machinery. The battery powered design requires no hard wiring or direct connection to the fire alarm system and can typically be installed at the bottom of the door in under five minutes using four screws. The unit also features adjustable sensitivity, automatic night time release and can hold the door open at a convenient angle. The Dorgard SmartSound is suitable for use on FD30 and FD60 fire doors when correctly specified and installed as part of the appropriate fire door assembly. As this product is fire tested, it must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and used with all relevant associated products where required.
